Install windows 7 on hp stream 114/15/2024 ![]() ![]() So I can't uninstall a bad/incorrect driver for it, can't see that it doesn't even have a driver, etc. It seems like the touchpad doesn't even exist in the computer hardware. Tried drivers from Synaptics site, no change. There is a folder labeled 'Synaptics' with the following subfolder "C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP" but just two. Even after trying 4 different synaptics driver/software installation files that proceeded through installation and said 'complete'. 'Synaptics' is not listed anywhere under programs. There are no "Mice and other pointing devices" listed under device manager besides my logitech mouse I have plugged in. Make sure that you have installed the latest version of the drivers for your Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 product using HP Support Assistant, or download them from HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads. There are no unknown devices in device manager. HP provides Windows 10 compatible software and updated drivers to support only specific computer models. Windows Update installed "Synaptics - Pointing Drawing - Synaptics HID Device - Synaptics Pointing Drawing software update released in July, 2015" with no change. I have Model 11-d010nr and I installed all of the available drivers from the hp website, including the touchpad drivers that are listed. Most of the solutions are a bit older when W10 was still a preview and drivers were not available on the hp website like they are now. ![]() I have Google'd quite a bit and tried a lot of different 'solutions' on the threads I could find, none of which have worked. Things that I've tried and other information: My HP Stream 11 was acting a bit off after the Windows 10 upgrade, so I finally got around to do a clean install with Windows 10.Įverything works great now except the touchpad does not work at all. Business PCs, Workstations and Point of Sale Systems.Printer Wireless, Networking & Internet.DesignJet, Large Format Printers & Digital Press.Printing Errors or Lights & Stuck Print Jobs.Notebook Hardware and Upgrade Questions.I have attached the drivers you need to slipstream because the ones in the document do not include the Series 7 ahci or RAID drivers you need (I don't know whether your model uses the AHCI or RAID driver).īut I assume you do since hopefully you looked in the device manager either under the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers category (if AHCI) or in the Storage Controllers category (if RAID) to determine the exact name of the sata controller you need. Then read the downloadable PDF document for how to slipstream all of the drivers. Now I want to revert to windows 8 which this tablet was made for. I am sick of this, I dont want to spend my time trying to keep windows 10 working on this tablet. Now, I prefer putting the drivers on a USB FDD and using the up/down arrow keys to install the drivers after I hit the F6 key and select the driver I need.īut I did slipstream the drivers once. My HP steam 7 tablet (1 Gb RAM, 32 Gb eMMC) was upgraded succefully to windows 10 two years ago, but now it keeps trying and failing update to 1803. I did the same thing you did.knew the exact name of the sata controller and tried to check the box to only include the compatible driver, and manually tried to install the driver I knew to be the correct one. Both times after having installed W8 and then wanting to go back to W7.thought I wrecked the drive somehow. ![]() ![]()
